Leon Lee (Apothecary) and Warren Pang (d Lounge) are the city’s undisputed cocktail kings, having created two of the most successful bars ever to grace our fair city. So it was with great joy (and a small, high-pitched whoot) that we discovered the pair have come together to form a dream team – and a dream bar.

185 Number of Dong Lai Xun yezi qiu (coconut balls) consumed by Team Bespoke since they were introduced to us by the nice folks at The Hutong. (In fact they’re so good we now put them in our cars!)
We’re always on the look out for artisanal, well-made-in-China products, and one of our favourite discoveries of the past few months has been Tu Textiles, a Beijing based design studio producing gorgeous China-inspired prints on eco-friendly fabrics. In fact their cushions are so lovely, you’ll be able to spot them in the bedrooms at the soon-to-open Temple Hotel any day now. Confirmation of their quality if ever we heard it.
It all went a bit ‘Mexican soap opera’ for China’s Communist Party this year, but a new Congress was elected in November as planned, and Mr Xi Jingping is now China’s top dog. The silver lining? It should finally put an end to all those annoying jokes about Hu Jintao’s surname.
When we’re given the opportunity to create and manage a Beijing event with a twist, Team Bespoke can get rather excited. Ideas start whizzing around the office, mood boards are pieced together, large amounts of peanut brittle are consumed (all part of the creative process, you understand), and something begins to take shape.
