We asked you to send us your best (and silliest) photos of the Beijing Time Chase for a little post-race contest, and you obliged, you competitive lot! Thanks very much, and can we say, what a special day it was. We can’t wait to do it all again.
First and foremost, here is our choice for BEST PHOTO OF THE DAY:
Congratulations to Mikolaj for this lovely pic! We think it really captures the fun and freedom of racing around Beijing in a retro motorcycle sidecar, so well done you. And of course, you win a bottle of aged Scottish single malt whiskey courtesy of our friends at XIX Spirit, a boutique spirit importer based in Beijing. Happy drinking!
Seconds up, here’s the winner of our FUNNIEST PHOTO category:
Well done Ewan and Stewart! You win a 200 RMB Great Leap Brewing voucher to spend on Beijing’s finest craft beer and burgers. (Check out our review of their latest venue here.)
The photo challenge for this clue on top of Jingshan Park was for one team member to be in east Beijing, the other in west Beijing, and both feet off the ground. Props to these guys for also getting a fab shot of the Forbidden City in the background. That was the clincher!
Marianne and her team mate choose the jumping technique, and were having trouble getting the timing right…
…So they came up with a different idea. Smart!
No such problems for Josh and May, who even added a snazzy heel click for good measure!
Elsewhere, we had teams recreating the cover of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album on a recently excavated stretch of Ming Dynasty road near the Forbidden City…
And let’s not forget our elephant, tirelessly handing out clues and peanuts to our Time Chasers all day. Thanks Michael for the photo (and capturing the greedy peanut snatcher in the corner. He’s since been told off.)
Final thanks goes to our official photographer for the day, Shannon – he took loads of amazing shots (see them here) but these are two of our faves.
Until next time, Time Chasers!
