At best it will take you 45 minutes to enjoy, but the Temple of Past Emperors is probably the most important Beijing tourist attraction you’ve never heard of.
Introducing our On Business package!
How hard can it be? All you have to remember to do is present your business cards with both hands, eat whatever’s put in front of you and never cause anyone to ‘lose face’. Oh and then there’s the getting around thing. And not being able to speak the language…
For those who don’t have time to waste (and who like it when things run smoothly) we’ve created ‘On Business’, a customizable Beijing business package that includes two airport transfers, three-day’s worth of car hire and a local cellphone preprogrammed with useful numbers – all for under 600USD (3,740RMB).
Beijing Geriatric Glee Club
Some of our most joyful – not to mention photo-worthy – moments happen when we stumble across old folk enjoying themselves en masse on Beijing’s streets. There aren’t many countries where you’ll find septuagenarians dancing and singing with wild abandon in public. So if you’re yet to have this quintessential Beijing moment, allow us to help you out a little. Here’s where to find your nearest Beijing Geriatric Glee Club.
Chinese New Year 2012: That was the week that was…
Sadly, the Chinese New Year festivities are nearly over, but we had a ball. And while we wouldn’t necessarily recommend anyone to travel to Beijing over this period (all of the best restaurants are closed for starters), we do think it’s a wonderful time to see Beijing at its festive best.
Here is a collection of colourful photos taken by Team Bespoke over the Chinese New Year 2012 holiday by way of demonstration!
Crack that whip!
Don’t you just love kooky Beijing pastimes? We came across this guy cracking an enormous whip by the National Art Museum of China (you can see for yourselves if you head there at around 7pm each evening). We don’t know why – and it makes a hell of a noise – but it’s pretty cool. Just stand well back!
Happy Birthday Red Gate Gallery!
Chinese art collectors and history fiends alike will love Red Gate – which not only happens to be the city’s most unique art gallery, but as of this weekend, also its oldest.
