‘Deco on the Road’: A Weekender (May 13-15)
Bespoke and Historic Shanghai will be hightailing to Nanjing by bullet train on Friday evening and checking-in to the lovely Intercontinental Nanjing (located at the very top of one of China’s tallest buildings and an architectural landmark in its own right).
We’ll spend the next two days discovering the city’s gorgeous Republican-era architecture with our Historic Shanghai experts. Been to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum before? ‘The Nanking Decade: 1927–1937’. A Pop-up Talk (April 27)
Think of this as a great little taster for our upcoming weekender in collaboration with Historic Shanghai. Bespoke will be sitting down with leading experts for an introduction to the modernist architecture that emerged during Nanjing’s ten year stint as capital of the Republic of China under President Chiang Kai-shek.
The Weekender departs Shanghai on the evening on Friday, May 13th and returns on the evening of Sunday, May 15th. Tickets cost 3,900RMB per person including train tickets, 2 nights’ accommodation at the Five Star Intercontinental Nanjing hotel, meals and full expert-led touring.
