And not just for a handful of one-off tours, but once a month from now until the end of the year!
That’s right, due to popular demand, we’ve decided to run our Official Midnight in Peking Walking Tour as a monthly event, allowing for up to 25 participants each time.
So if you know someone who’s read Paul French’s stunning real life murder mystery but missed out on our Limited Edition tour run, tell them the good news!
Or why not give the book to your next visitor ahead of their trip?
The Official Midnight in Peking Walking Tour will take place on the last Saturday of every month, beginning this June 24th.
To book a spot on this or future tours, just send an email to [email protected] with the names and emails of each participant and the number of tickets you require.
More About the Official Midnight In Peking Walking Tour
Bespoke Beijing and Penguin Books present the authorized Midnight in Peking Walking Tour – now available as a monthly public tour – inviting you to retrace the footsteps of those embroiled in one of Beijing’s most grisly murders.
In 1937 the body of a young woman named Pamela Werner was discovered at the foot of the city’s desolate ‘Fox Tower’, her body badly butchered. Even her heart was missing. Local gossips blamed ‘fox spirits’ for taking her life, but the police (and Pamela’s own father, the retired diplomat ETC Werner), knew differently. This wasn’t the work of animals, but of men – and time was running out for them to discover the truth.
Join us on this evening walking tour as we weave our way through the Werners’ old neighbourhood, along the ancient Tartar Wall to the so-called Badlands and on to the former Legation Quarter, bringing this turbulent period in Beijing’s history to life once more. Even better, the tour features newly unearthed Chinese police reports on the case, revealing several of the book’s characters in a new light.
